To round up our flashback on Hygeia, let's talk about how adding stories to the user journey also improved the site's functionality. By using stories and focusing closely on the site's responsiveness across all devices, we were able to map out a clear journey that’s scalable. Whether you’re coming to the site from a desktop, iPad or a mobile phone, you get to enjoy a journey that has been designed to take you from discovery to purchasing a plan that’s right for you.

In this #coronavirus pandemic period where we’re all forced to stay indoors, isolation from the natural world can affect our mental and emotional health. Biophilic design is a key aspect of our work at @akankagroup, so we’ve been thinking about how we can help people bring nature into their homes to boost their happiness.

At the studio, we’re grateful to be surrounded by nature and the sounds of birds in the morning, and this comes with its benefits. Scientists at the University of Surrey discovered that, “of all the natural sounds, bird songs and calls were those most often cited as helping people recover from stress, and allowing them to restore and refocus their attention.” We want to share these vibes by recording the sounds and visuals of nature at the studio and sharing them with you online. We hope that they help you feel better during this period. ❤️ Check the link in our bio for a longer video on our Youtube channel.

For us, design is iterative and constant. This is just the first version of our kitchen’s design. As we learn through it, we look forward to sharing more break-downs of how we design spaces for happiness and great interactions. 😉
